What to Expect When Hiring a Drone Service for Construction | Remington Drones

If you've never worked with a drone service before, here's what the process looks like from quote to deliverables.

If you're considering drone documentation for a construction project but aren't sure what the process looks like, this guide will walk you through what to expect when working with Remington Drones.

Step 1: Request a Quote

The process starts with a quote request. You'll provide basic information about your project — location, type, size, and the services you're interested in. We'll review the details and follow up with questions if needed, then provide a proposal that outlines the services, schedule, and pricing for your specific project.

Step 2: Project Setup

Once you've decided to move forward, we'll set up your project in our system and create your private client portal account. We'll confirm the capture schedule, discuss any site access requirements, and coordinate with your site supervisor to ensure flights can be conducted safely.

Step 3: Drone Flights

On scheduled capture dates, our FAA Part 107 licensed pilot will arrive at the site, conduct a pre-flight safety check, and fly the site according to the planned mission. Flights are conducted safely and in compliance with FAA regulations and construction site safety requirements.

Step 4: Processing and Delivery

After each flight, the captured data is processed and the deliverables are uploaded to your private client portal. Depending on the services requested, this may include photos, video, orthomosaic maps, Gaussian splats, or progress reports. You'll receive a notification when new deliverables are available.

Step 5: Ongoing Documentation

For recurring documentation projects, this process repeats on your chosen schedule — weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or milestone-based. Over time, you build a comprehensive visual record of your project that you can access at any time.
